Assessment of body composition athletes in synchronized swimming

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vyhodnocením vybraných parametrů tělesného složení u českých závodnic v synchronizovaném plavání. Tělesnou výšku, hmotnost a BMI následně srovnává s odpovídajícími hodnotami zahraničních účastnic OH 2012. Tělesnou výšku, hmotnost, BMI, PBF, WHR dále srovnává s českými reprezentantkami ve sportovní gymnastice. Výsledky práce prezentují, že české závodnice v synchronizovaném plavání váží v průměru 59,4 kg, měří 167 cm, hodnota BMI je 21,3, PBF je 22,8, WHR je 0,84, hodnota viscerálního tuku je 5,1. Při porovnání českých synchronizovaných plavkyň s účastnicemi OH 2012 byly nalezeny rozdíly jak v tělesné výšce, tak v hmotnosti. České závodnice synchronizovaného plavání měly značně vyšší hmotnost a procento tělesného tuku oproti reprezentantkám ve sportovní gymnastice.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the evaluation of selected parameters of body composition of Czech female competitors in synchronized swimming. Their values of body height, weight and BMI were compared to corresponding figures of foreign participants of the Olympic Games 2012. The obtained figures of height, weight, BMI, PBF and WHR were further compared to the corresponding figures of Czech female internationals in gymnastics. The results show the Czech female synchronized swimmers´ weight is on average 59.4 kg, height 167 cm, the BMI value is 21.3, PBF 22.8, WHR 0.84, the value of visceral fat is 5.1. When the figures are compared between the Czech female synchronized swimmers and the participants of the Olympic Games 2012, there are differences both in the body height and the body weight. The Czech female competitors in synchronized swimming have much higher weight and body fat percentage compared to the female internationals in gymnastics.
