Foster care and its reflection in the family and social relationships

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá pěstounskou péčí a jejím odrazem v životech a vztazích pěstounských rodin. Cílem práce je zjistit a popsat jakým způsobem se projeví přijetí dítěte do pěstounské péče v rodinách pěstounů, využít tato zjištění pro poskytnutí informací možným zájemcům o pěstounskou péči a pomoci jim takto v jejich rozhodování. Diplomová práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. V teoretické části přináší poznatky o systému náhradní rodinné péče v České republice, o institutu pěstounské péče, procesu zprostředkování, historii i modelech v zahraničí. Součástí je rovněž kapitola věnovaná rodině, jejímu významu pro dítě a problematice začleňování přijatého dítěte do nové rodiny. Praktická část je realizována pomocí kvalitativně orientovávaného výzkumu, který je prostřednictvím rozhovorů s pěstouny a jejich zkušeností zaměřen na získání informací o dopadu pěstounské péče na jejich rodinu.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with foster care and its reflection in lives and relationships of foster families. The aim of the paper is to identify and describe how it affects the adoption of a child to foster care in foster families, use these findings to provide information to potential candidates of foster care and thus help them in their decision making. This thesis consists of a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part brings information about the foster care system in the Czech Republic, about the institution of foster care, the mediation process, its history and models abroad. It also includes a chapter focused on the family, its importance for the adopted child and the issues of their integration in a new family. The practical part is realized by means of qualitatively orientated research that is accomplished through interviews with foster parents and their personal experience, and is aimed at obtaining information about the impact of foster care on their families.
