Sleep Disorders in Emergency Staff Professionals from the Paramedic's Perspective

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se bude zabývat problematikou poruch spánku u pracovníků zdravotnické záchranné služby z pohledu zdravotnického záchranáře. Úvod práce se zaměří na literární přehled témat týkajících se spánku, včetně fyziologie spánku, fází spánku a poruch spánku. Důraz bude kladen na cirkadiánní rytmus, který úzce souvisí s přirozenými biorytmy lidského těla. Hlavní teoretická část práce bude zaměřena na popis vztahu mezi nedostatkem spánku a jeho dopadu na zdraví a výkonu pracovníků v oblasti záchranné služby. Další témata, která budou probírána, zahrnují diagnózu, léčbu a prevenci poruch spánku, přičemž důraz bude kladen na význam správné hygieny spánku. V praktické části této práce bylo cílem implementovat náhled na problematiku spánkové deprivace a získat data o výskytu poruch spánku u pracovníků zdravotnické záchranné služby. Naším cílem je navrhnout individuální řešení a minimalizovat riziko chyb v důsledku nedostatku spánku a směnného provozu. Práce se snaží poskytnout ucelený pohled na tuto problematiku a na základě analýzy dat z 72 dotazníků zkoumáme názorovou hladinu pracovníků ZSS. V závěru práce jsou prezentována doporučení pro prevenci poruch spánku a minimalizaci rizik.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis will focus on the issue of sleep disorders among healthcare professionals in the emergency medical services from the perspective of a paramedic. The introduction of the thesis will focus on a literature review of topics related to sleep, including sleep physiology, sleep stages, and sleep disorders. Emphasis will be placed on the circadian rhythm, which is closely related to the natural biorhythms of the human body. The main theoretical part of the thesis will be focused on describing the relationship between sleep deprivation and its impact on the health and performance of emergency medical services workers. Other topics to be discussed include the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sleep disorders, with an emphasis on the importance of proper sleep hygiene. The practical part of this thesis aimed to implement an overview of sleep deprivation issues and obtain data on the prevalence of sleep disorders among healthcare professionals in the emergency medical services. Our goal is to propose individual solutions and minimize the risk of errors due to sleep deprivation and shift work. This thesis seeks to provide a comprehensive view of this issue and, based on the analysis of data from 72 questionnaires, examines the opinion level of EMS workers. The recommendations for preventing sleep disorders and minimizing risks are presented in the conclusion of the thesis.
