Children of Roma Origin in Substitute Family Care

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývala problematikou náhradní rodinné péče u dětí romského etnika. Jejím cílem bylo zjistit, jaké jsou kladeny specifické nároky na náhradní rodiče a na sociální pracovníky působící v této oblasti. Práci tvořily dvě části. Teoretická část uvedla pojmosloví a odborné poznatky v náhradní rodinné péči se zaměřením na děti romského etnika. Empirická část zjišťovala prostřednictvím 10 rozhovorů s náhradními rodiči a se sociálními pracovnicemi, s jakými nároky se mohou setkat. Náročnost výchovy dítěte se projevovala především v kontaktu s biologickou rodinou, v přípravě na budoucnost, v negativním jednání okolí. Pro sociální pracovníky bylo obtížné umísťovat děti romského etnika do náhradních rodin a v systému viděli další problémy ve vztahu k romským dětem. Zjištění připravila podklad pro možný kvantitativní výzkum ohledně ověření daných nároků jako hypotéz. Za největší přínos práce bylo možné považovat poznání některých aspektů současné náhradní rodinné péče u dítěte romského etnika.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis was focused on the issue of substitute family care in a case of Roma children. The aim was to find out the specific demands substitute parents and social workers have to fulfil. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part was describing terminology and theoretical basis within the substitute family care for Roma children. A qualitative research, presented in the empirical part, is based on interviews with substitute parents and social workers. Ten respondents were inquired to indicate requirements they may deal with. The main exacting demands of upbringing foster child became evident in contact with biological family, preparation for the future life and negative attitude of the environment. Social workers found it difficult to place Roma children into substitute families and they also witnessed other problems related to children from Roma ethnic. Ascertained demands resulting from the research brought up hypotheses of further quantitative research. The most significant benefit of this thesis can be found in discovering aspects of social substitute family care in the case of Roma children.
