The development of Reform grammer school in Cesky Tesin during the First Republic

Abstract:

Cílem mé práce je komplexní analýza vzniku a rozvoje českého gymnázia v Českém Těšíně v období od jeho vzniku do roku 1938. Analýza srovnává některé výstupy s dalšími českými školami stejného typu v regionu Těšínského Slezska. Vznik a rozvoj gymnázia je zasazen do společensko historického kontextu vývoje regionu i města. V práci prezentuji charakteristiku učitelského sboru, jeho složení podle pohlaví, doby odučených let i počtu zastoupených aprobací. Stěžejní součástí práce je podrobná analýza studentů prostřednictvím dvou sond, které vzájemně porovnávám. Studenty analyzuji podle teritoriálního původu, biologických a sociokulturních znaků a vybraná data rovněž srovnávám s českými gymnázii v regionu.

Abstract:

The aim of my paper is to analyze thoroughly the establishment and the development of the Reform Grammar School in Český Těšín in the period from its foundation until 1938. My analysis compares some of the results with those of other similar Czech schools in the Těšín Silesia Region. The origin of the grammar school is set in the socio-historical context of the development of the region as well as of the town itself. In my paper, I present the characteristics of the staff, its gender structure and the number of years taught and even the number of subjects taught. The key part of my paper is the analysis of the students by the means of two probes, which I compare. I analyze the students according to the place they come from and I also consider their biological and sociocultural characteristics. Afterwards, I compare given data with other Czech grammar schools in the region.
