Bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu odchodu dětí z dětského domova. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou. V teoretické části se práce zabývá vývojem a potřebami dítěte a jeho rodinou. Na to navazuje část věnovaná institucionální péči, kde jsou charakterizovány různé typy této péče a také charakteristika konkrétního dětského domova.
