Commented Translation of a Non-Literary Text from Spanish to Czech. Field: Psychology and Literature

Abstract:

The main aim of this thesis was a translation of an academic text from the psychology and literature fields from Spanish to Czech and its subsequent analysis. The thesis is divided into two main parts and in total four chapters. The first part focuses on the translation and its analysis and contains three chapters. The first chapter contains the translation of the source text. In the second chapter we dedicate to the analysis of this text in terms of basic characteristics and further analysis of language levels. In the third chapter we analyze the translation process, the translation of professional terminology and also used translation transformations. In the second part of the thesis, which contains the last fourth chapter, we discuss our chosen linguistic phenomenon, verbal periphrasis, both in Spanish and in Czech. Our task was to point out the systemic similarities and differences that prevail in the translation of this particular phenomenon.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce byl překlad odborného textu z oblastí psychologie a literatury ze španělštiny do češtiny a jeho následná analýza. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí a celkem čtyř kapitol. První část se zaměřuje na překlad a jeho analýzu a obsahuje tři kapitoly. V první kapitole se nachází samotný překlad výchozího textu. Ve druhé kapitole se věnujeme analýze tohoto textu z hlediska základních charakteristik a dále rozboru jazykových rovin. Ve třetí kapitole analyzujeme překladatelský postup, převod odborné terminologie a také použité překladové transformace. Ve druhé části práce, která obsahuje poslední čtvrtou kapitolu, rozebíráme námi vybraný lingvistický jev, kterým jsou slovesné perifráze a to jak ve španělštině, tak v češtině. Naším úkolem zde bylo poukázat na systémové shody a rozdíly, které panují při překladu tohoto konkrétního jevu.
