Plastics as a module for integrated teaching in high school

Abstract:

Integrovaná výuka umožňuje propojování poznatků z jednotlivých vzdělávacích oborů a zároveň dbá i na jejich aplikaci do reálného světa. Je jedním z trendů současných teorií vzdělávání především z hlediska důrazu na přípravu žáků na skutečný život. Předložená diplomová práce aplikuje principy integrované výuky na téma PLASTY. V teoretické části práce jsou uvedeny základní poznatky o integrované výuce a možnosti její realizace v současném českém školství. Dále jsou v souladu s tématem práce uvedeny stěžejní poznatky o plastech. Důležitou oblastí těchto poznatků je ve shodě se zaměřením práce i problematika vlivu plastů na životní prostředí. Praktická část práce vychází z provedené analýzy rámcového vzdělávacího programu pro gymnázia a učebnic chemie z hlediska obsahu a realizace výuky o plastech a propojování informací získaných v předmětu chemie s dalšími vzdělávacími obory. Z výsledků analýzy vyplývá jednoznačný závěr, že i když rámcový vzdělávací program pro gymnázia integrovaný přístup v rámci výuky podporuje a přímo doporučuje, učebnice chemie tomuto přístupu naproti nejdou a naopak se stále drží předávání izolovaných informací. Proto jsem se v rámci podpory trendu integrovaného přístupu k výuce rozhodl vyhledat a prezentovat různorodé materiály, které mohou učitelům sloužit jednak jako zdroj informací, ale také jako vhodná inspirace. Mezi tyto materiály patří hry, obrázky, články, experimenty a samozřejmě videa, která mají velkou šanci upoutat pozornost žáků. Všechny náměty respektují hledisko integrace poznatků z různých přírodovědných předmětů vztahujících se k tématu PLASTY a umožňují nenásilně rozvíjet kompetence žáků v rámci různých průřezových témat. Ke všem materiálům jsou přiloženy popisy (resp. návody) a internetové odkazy, kde lze daný materiál dohledat, takže jsou učitelům k dispozici okamžitě a v podstatě neomezeně dlouhou dobu. Prezentované materiály jsou z hlediska svého obsahu univerzální, takže mohou být tvůrčím způsobem využity učitelem v různých fázích výuky.

Abstract:

Integrated teaching enables the integration of knowledge from individual educational disciplines while also paying attention to their application in the real world. It is one of the trends of current theories of education, especially in terms of emphasis on preparing students for real life. The Master's thesis applies the principles of integrated teaching to the topic of PLASTICS. The theoretical part presents basic knowledge about integrated teaching and the possibilities of its implementation in contemporary Czech education system. Furthermore, key knowledge about plastics is presented in accordance with the topic of the thesis. In line with the focus of the thesis, an important area of this knowledge is the environmental impact of plastics. The practical part is based on the analysis of the Framework Educational Programme for Grammar Schools and chemistry textbooks in terms of content and implementation of teaching about plastics and linking the information obtained in the subject of chemistry with other educational fields. The results of the analysis lead to a clear conclusion that although the Framework Educational Programme for Grammar Schools supports and directly recommends an integrated approach in teaching, chemistry textbooks do not follow this approach and, on the contrary, still stick to handing on isolated information. Therefore, in support of the trend of an integrated approach to teaching, the author decided to find and present a variety of materials that can serve as a source of information for teachers as well as a suitable inspiration. These materials include games, pictures, articles, experiments and, of course, videos that have a great chance of catching the attention of students. All topics respect the integration of knowledge from various science subjects related to the topic of PLASTICS and allow unforced development of students' competencies within various cross-cutting themes. All materials are accompanied by descriptions (or instructions) and Internet links where the material can be found, so they are available to teachers immediately and essentially indefinitely. The presented materials are universal in terms of their content, so they can be used in a creative way by the teacher at different stages of teaching.
