The Role of the Human Resources Department in Non-profit organizations

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je zjistit, jakou roli přikládají vybrané neziskové organizace personální práci. Teoretická část vymezuje klíčové pojmy, a to neziskové organizace, personální útvar a jeho místo v organizační struktuře, personální řízení a řízení lidských zdrojů, představuji možné přístupy k personální práci, personální strategii a politiku a nakonec jednotlivé personální činnosti. Doplňujícími kapitolami jsou faktory, které ovlivňují nastavení personální práce v neziskových organizacích. Teoretická část má upozornit na význam oblasti řízení lidských zdrojů jako součástí celkového řízení každé organizace. K zodpovězení dílčích a tedy i hlavní výzkumné otázky byla využita kvalitativní výzkumná strategie. Pro sběr dat byla zvolena metoda částečně standardizovaných rozhovorů s osobami zodpovědnými za personální řízení a klíčovými zaměstnanci. V rámci metodologické části byl určen výzkumný vzorek, proces sběru dat, metoda analýzy a možná omezení a kritika výzkumu. V empirické části jsou interpretována a analyzována získaná data, díky nimž byla zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka. Závěrem jsou navržena obecná doporučení ke zlepšení personální práce v neziskových organizacích.

Abstract:

The aim od the thesis is to discover how important human resources departments in non-profit organizations are. The theoretical part defines key words, namely non-profit organization, human resources department and its position in the structure of the organization, personnel department and human resources department; the author of the thesis introduces possible approaches towards human resources work, human resources strategy and policy, and individual human resources activities. Complementary chapters deal with factors that influence human resources work in non-profit organizations. The theoretical part is considered to emphasize the importance of human resources field in the management of any organization. By means of qualitative research the author of the thesis answers the main and also partial research questions. As a method of collecting data, the author of the thesis used semi-standart interview with the people responsible for human resources management and key employees. The sample of the research was defined in the methodological part as well as the process of data collecting, the method of analysis, possible restrictions and criticism of the research. Data collected which helped in answering the main research question are interpreted and analysed in the empirical part. In conclusion, general recommendations on improving human resources work in non-profit organizations are suggested.
