Teacher's view: Cross-curricular subjects in pedagogical practice with a focus on media education

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá kvalitativním zkoumáním problematiky role průřezových témat, konkrétně mediální výchovy, z pohledu pedagogů na 2. stupni základních škol v České republice. Nabízí teoretický úvod shrnující principy fungování médií, jejich výzev (co se ve vztahu k žákům týče), současný výzkum a představení školních dokumentů. Nastiňuje výzkumný cíl odpovídající na otázku, jaký je postoj respondentů vůči výuce mediální výchovy a dalších průřezových témat. K naplnění tohoto cíle využívá metody polostrukturovaného rozhovoru, získaná data jsou následně zpracována za pomoci tematické analýzy a shrnuta v závěru. Práce tak nabízí náhled do praxe respondentů věnovaný okrajovým tématům RVP ZV, i specifika mediální výchovy, jež může sloužit jako pozitivní inspirace (nejen) budoucím pedagogům.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis deals with qualitative research on the role of cross-curricular subjects, specifically media education, from the perspective of teachers at the second level of primary schools in the Czech Republic. It offers a theoretical introduction summarising the principles of media, its challenges (concerning pupils), current research, and an introduction to school documents. It outlines the research aim, which answers the question of the attitude of respondents towards teaching media education and cross-curricular subjects. To achieve this goal, it uses a semi-structured interview method, the data obtained are subsequently processed using thematic analysis and summarized in the conclusion. Thus, the thesis offers insight into the respondents' practice dedicated to peripheral topics of the Framework educational programme for secondary education, as well as the specifics of media education, which can serve as a positive inspiration for (not only) future teachers.
