Fulfilling Parental Responsibilities in Children and Youth from Children's Homes

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá naplňováním rodičovské odpovědnosti u dětí a mládeže z dětských domovů. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části seznámíme čtenáře s činností orgánu sociálně právní ochrany dětí, dále je popsán proces odebrání dítěte z péče a podpora rodiny v této nelehké situaci. Hlavní kapitola charakterizuje rodičovskou odpovědnost, její vznik, zánik, nositele a oblasti rodičovské odpovědnosti. Na závěr kapitoly jsme popsali, jak má správně fungovat rodičovství. V poslední kapitole teoretické části popíšeme ústavní výchovu, dětský domov a roli sociálního pracovníka v dětském domově. Druhá, praktická část, je tvořena kvalitativním výzkumem, ke sběru dat je použita metoda rozhovorů a analýz dokumentů. Data jsou zpracovány formou případové studie a jsou vyobrazeny prostřednictvím kazuistik. Výsledkem výzkumné části je popis, jak rodiče naplňují jednotlivé oblasti rodičovské odpovědnosti, a to z pohledu sociálního pracovníka dětského domova.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the fulfilment of parental responsibility of children and youths from children's homes. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part we introduce the reader to the activities of the institution of social and legal protection of children, then the process of removing a child from care and support for the family in this difficult situation is described. The main chapter characterizes parental responsibility, its origin, termination, carriers and areas of parental responsibility. At the end of the chapter we describe how parenting should work properly. In the last chapter of the theoretical part we describe institutional education, the children's home and the role of the social worker in the children's home. The second, practical part, consists of qualitative research; the method of interviews and document analysis is used to collect data. The data are processed in the form of a case study and are illustrated through case studies. The result of the research part is a description of how parents fulfill the different areas of parental responsibility, from the perspective of a social worker of a children's home.
