Abstract:

Různé faktory mohou ovlivňovat náš postoj ke zdraví a sociální média mohou být relevantním faktorem přispívajícím k naší celkové zdravé stravovací a fitness rutině. Tato diplomová práce zkoumá vliv sociálních médií na fyzické zdraví studentů univerzit v České republice. Prozkoumáním zkušeností a perspektiv této specifické cílové skupiny odhaluje studie cenné poznatky ohledně míry, do jaké sociální média ovlivňují jejich chování. Kvalitativní výzkum zdůrazňuje, že sociální sítě jsou pro jejich uživatele nezbytným spojením s ostatními lidmi s podobnými zájmy, používají je pro výměnu relevantních informací a slouží jako cenný zdroj motivace. Sociální sítě podporují pocit komunity, kde jednotlivci sdílí své znalosti, hledají rady a nacházejí motivaci od těch, co sdílí podobné cíle a aspirace. Výzkum zdůrazňuje rozdíl mezi pasivní konzumací obsahu, kterou přisuzují uživatelé okamžikům nudy, a aktivním zapojení se do obsahu od odborníků, které zdůrazňuje posun od pasivního sledování k aktivnímu hledání informací.

Abstract:

Various factors influence health behaviours, and social media is a relevant factor contributing to a person's total diet. This master's thesis focuses on examining the influence of social media on the physical health behaviours of university students in the Czech Republic. By delving into the experiences and perspectives of this specific target group, the study uncovers valuable insights into the extent to which social media impacts their physical health behaviours. The research highlights that social networks are essential for consumers to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange relevant information, and serve as a valuable source of motivation. Social networks foster a sense of community, where individuals feel comfortable sharing their knowledge, seeking advice, and finding motivation from others who share similar goals and aspirations. A remarkable duality of the behaviour of young university students while engaging with social media platforms was observed. The research highlights the difference between their passive consumption, attributing it to moments of boredom and active engagement with professionals on social media, underscoring a shift from passive following to proactive information-seeking behaviour.
