Teachers' Preparedness for Inclusive Education of Pupils with Intellectual Disability and Disturbed Communication Ability in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Připravenost pedagogů na společné vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením a narušenou komunikační schopností na základních školách v České republice“ se zaměřuje na pedagogy jak na prvních, tak i druhých stupních běžných základních škol a na jejich připravenost na inkluzivní vzdělávání žáků, kterým bylo diagnostikováno mentální postižení a v jeho důsledku také narušená komunikační schopnost. V první kapitole jsou definovány speciálně vzdělávací potřeby, mentální postižení, narušená komunikační schopnost a její nejčastější typy u žáků s MP. Druhá kapitola se věnuje systému vzdělávání žáků v České republice a jeho legislativě, dále podpůrným opatřením a roli pedagoga v inkluzivním vzdělávání. Poslední teoretická kapitola seznamuje s faktory podílejícími se na vzdělávání žáků s MP a NKS k nimž patří rodina, sport a zájmové činnosti nebo poradenský systém. Výzkumnou část poté tvoří kvantitativní výzkum, přesněji dotazníkové šetření s hlavními cíli a stanovenými hypotézami, které jsou následně vyhodnoceny.

Abstract:

The Master’s thesis called „Teachers’ Preparedness for Inclusive Education of Pupils with Intellectual Disability and Disturbed Communication Ability in the Czech Republic” focuses on teachers at elementary and junior high mainstream schools and their preparedness for inclusive education of pupils diagnosed with intellectual disability and disturbed communication ability. The first chapter defines special educational needs, intellectual disability, disturbed communication ability and its most common kinds associated with pupils with intellectual disability. The second chapter deals with the educational system in the Czech Republic and its legislation, support measures and the role of the inclusive teacher. The last theoretical chapter mentions factors involved in the education of pupils with intellectual disability and disturbed communication ability including family, sport and free time activities or consultation system. The practical part of the Mater’s thesis consists of quantitative research including main objectives, stated hypotheses and the evaluation.
