The attitude of the Czech society to investing in securities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá postojem české společnosti ke stále aktuálnějšímu a na popularitě nabývajícímu tématu, kterým je investování do cenných papírů a zkoumá rozdíly v přístupu k investování na základě různých faktorů. Dále práce přibližuje čtenáři jednotlivé typy cenných papírů, jejich specifika a funkce na trhu. Cílem této bakalářské práce je na základě výsledků dotazníkového šetření vyhodnotit a charakterizovat chování občanů České republiky v oblasti investování do cenných papírů. Dotazníkové šetření bylo provedeno na vzorku 507 respondentů, kteří byli podle skutečnosti, zda již v životě investovali či nikoliv rozřazeni do dvou skupin. Oběma skupinám byly následně položeny tři identické otázky týkající se finančního chování respondentů za účelem přímého porovnání investujících a neinvestujících osob a tři otázky uzůsobené pro každou ze skupin s cílem hlubšího popisu této části populace. Data získaná z dotazníkového šetření jsou dána do souvislostí se sociodemografickými ukazateli. Výsledky ukazují převahu části populace, která nikdy do cenných papírů neinvestovala a nízké procento investujících žen.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the attitude of the Czech society to the current and increasingly popular topic of investing in securities and examines the differences in the approach to investing based on various factors. Furthermore, the work introduces the reader to various types of securities, their specifics and functions in the market. This bachelor thesis aims to evaluate and characterize the behavior of citizens of the Czech Republic in the field of investing in securities based on the results of a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire survey was conducted on a sample of 507 respondents who were divided into two groups according to the fact whether they had already invested in their lives or not. Both groups were asked three identical questions about their financial behavior for a direct comparison of investing and non-investing respondents and three questions tailored to each of the groups in order to provide a deeper description of this part of the population. The data obtained from the questionnaire survey are put into context with socio-demographic indicators. The results show the predominance of the part of the population that has never invested in securities and the low percentage of investing women.
