Projektové řízení je manažerská činnost a projekt je obvykle realizován projektovým týmem. V každém projektovém týmu jsou dány určité role, které se neshodují s běžnými rolemi ve společnosti. Sestavení týmu a řízení jeho činnosti řídí projektový manažer. Ten si musí osvojit řadu dovedností pro úspěšné řešení projektu.
