Development of an information system for art associations

Abstract:

V naší zemi působí řada uměleckých soubory, např. pěveckých sborů či orchestrů, u kterých musí jejich vedení zajišťovat kromě hlavní, umělecké náplně činnosti také řadu specifických organizačních potřeb. Jde například o vedení přehledu událostí, zajištění odpovídající účasti členů nebo třeba katalogizace notových materiálů. Tyto činnosti lze zjednodušit za využití odpovídajícího informačního systému. Existující řešení však cílí spíše na profesionální umělecká tělesa v cizích zemích, čemuž odpovídají jejich funkce i cenové modely. Tato řešení tedy zcela neodpovídají potřebám neprofesionálním uměleckým spolkům ve středoevropském prostředí. Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat zmíněné informační a organizační potřeby uměleckých souborů a následně navrhnout a implementovat odpovídající informační systém. Projekt navazuje na autorovu bakalářskou práci „Informační systém pro pěvecké sbory“, která prokázala nejen životaschopnost, ale i velký zájem ze strany zákazníků a potenciál využití v dalších uměleckých souborech. V rámci práce byl vytvořen informační systém Sborio beta, který je úspěšně nasazen do provozu a je prakticky využíván v několika uměleckých tělesech zapojených v projektu. Systém Sborio beta je dostupný pod licencí GNU GPLv3.

Abstract:

In our country, there are many artistic groups, such as choirs or orchestras, whose management must provide a number of specific organizational needs in addition to the main artistic activities. These include, for example, keeping an overview of events, ensuring adequate participation of members or cataloguing sheet music. These activities can be simplified by using an appropriate information system. However, the existing solutions tend to target professional art ensembles in foreign countries, and their functions and pricing models correspond to this. Therefore, these solutions do not fully meet the needs of non-professional art ensembles in the Central European environment. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the mentioned informational and organizational needs of artistic groups and then to design and implement a corresponding information system. The project is a continuation of the author's bachelor thesis "Information system for choirs", which proved not only viability but also great interest from customers and potential for use in other arts associations. Within the framework of the thesis, the Sborio beta information system has been developed, successfully deployed into operation, and is practically used in several artistic groups involved in the project. The Sborio beta system is available under the GNU GPLv3 license.
