Price Elasticity of Bus Transportation in Třebíč

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá výpočtem cenové elasticity v rámci městské autobusové dopravy v Třebíči. Analýza je provedena za účelem zhodnocení a případné optimalizace jízdného. V úvodu teoretické části jsou uvedeny historické údaje a základní charakteristiky města Třebíče a Městské autobusové dopravy Třebíč. Poté se teoretická část podrobněji zabývá principy fungování Městské autobusové dopravy Třebíč, zejména se soustředí na typy a ceny jízdného. Praktická část nejdříve uvádí metodologii výzkumu, postup získání dat a základní popisné statistiky vycházející z dat. Dále pokračuje uvedením do teorie cenové elasticity, na niž navazují samotné výpočty a výsledky. Závěrem tato diplomová práce na základě získaných výsledků předkládá stanoviska a doporučení, která mohou být mimo jiné užitečná pro zástupce odboru dopravy v Třebíči.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the calculation of price elasticity in connection with urban bus transportation in Třebíč. The analysis is performed to evaluate and eventually optimize fares. At the beginning of the theoretical part are presented the historical data and basic characteristics of the town Třebíč and the bus transportation in Třebíč. Afterwards the theoretical part deals with the principles of operation of the bus transportation Třebíč in detail, particularly focusing on types and fares. The practical part first sets out the methodology of research, the process of obtaining data and basic descriptive statistics based on data. Further it continues by introducing into the theory of price elasticity followed by the calculations and the results themselves. In conclusion this diploma thesis presents opinions and recommendations based on the obtained results which may be also useful for the representatives of the Transport Department in Třebíč.
