Teacher Readiness to Educate Pupils with Epilepsy

Abstract:

Diplomová práce si klade za cíl analyzovat připravenost učitelů 1. stupně běžných základních škol k edukaci žáků s epilepsií na vzorku škol v okrese Liberec. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, teoretické a empirické. V teoretické části je nejprve charakterizována epilepsie, a to se snahou přiblížit toto onemocnění spíše laické veřejnosti. Následně je charakterizován pojem edukace se zaměřením na vzdělávací systém v České republice, podrobněji pak základní vzdělávání na 1. stupni běžných základních škol. V poslední kapitole teoretické části je charakterizován systém vzdělávání žáků se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami se zaměřením na vzdělávání žáků s epilepsií. Obsahem empirické části je zpracování provedeného výzkumu. Jeho cílem bylo mimo jiné zjistit odpovědi na výzkumné problémy, a to jaká je připravenost učitelů 1. stupně běžných základních škol v okrese Liberec k edukaci žáků s epilepsií, jaké jsou rozdíly v připravenosti učitelů 1. stupně běžných základních škol v okrese Liberec k edukaci žáků s epilepsií podle délky jejich praxe jako učitele 1. stupně základní školy a podle toho, zda mají zkušenosti s výukou žáků s epilepsií, či nikoliv. Na základě provedených statistických analýz byly zjišťovány statistická významnost těchto rozdílů a stupně závislosti. V rámci provedeného výzkumu byla vyhodnocena získaná data. Ta byla analyzována a zároveň byla na jejich základě provedena matematicko-statistická verifikace hypotéz. Pro potřeby výzkumu byla vytvořena definice připravenosti učitelů k edukaci žáků s epilepsií a způsob jejího měření.

Abstract:

The aim of diploma thesis is to analyze readiness of primary teachers at ordinary primary schools for education of pupils with epilepsy. It is done at sample schools in Liberec district. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part there is the epilepsy characterized at first. There is an effort to put near this illness to the lay public. Then the conception of education with the intent on educational system in the Czech Republic is characterized. More in detail it is described the basic education at the first part of the ordinary primary schools. In the last theoretical part the system of education of pupils with the special educational needs with the aim at education of pupils with epilepsy is characterized. The content of the empirical part is the arrangement of performed research. The aim was to find out the answers for research problems - the readiness of primary teachers at ordinary primary schools in Liberec district for education of pupils with epilepsy; the differences in readiness of primary teachers at ordinary primary schools in Liberec district for education of pupils with epilepsy according to the length of their practice as a primary teachers and according to whether they have the experience with the teaching of pupils with the epilepsy or not. According to performed statistics of analysis the statistics of significance of these differences and the degree of dependence were inquired. In the performed research the acquired data were evaluated. They were analyzed and at the same time the math-statistics verification of theories was performed at that foundations. For needs of the research it was created the definition of readiness of teachers for education of pupils with epilepsy and the way of its measuring.
