Fashion Show as Performance-Art

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce Módní přehlídka jako performance se zabývá zkoumáním, srovnáním a vysvětlením příbuznosti nebo podobnosti módní přehlídky a umělecké formy, kterou nazýváme performance. Tato studie se dále snaží popsat konkrétní módní přehlídky, které jsou s uměním performance nejvíce svázány, a objasnit jednotlivé divadelní či performativní prvky, díky nimž jsou pro nás módní přehlídky z teatrologického hlediska zajímavé. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř hlavních kapitol. První kapitola nazvaná Teoretická část se zaměřuje na vysvětlení tří hlavních pojmů, které se k práci vztahují, a to pojem divadla, performance a módní přehlídky. Další kapitola Historická část zase pojednává o vývoji obou forem, jak performance, tak módní přehlídky. Námětem další v pořadí třetí části jsou již konkrétní znaky, které performance od módní přehlídky oddalují či přibližují. Přičemž poslední kapitola Praktická část, která se dělí na mnoho dalších podkapitol podle určitých stanovených typů módních přehlídek, popisuje jednotlivé přehlídky a jejich možné divadelní znaky. Cílem práce je poukázat na inovativní nebo klasické přístupy, co se týče provedení módních přehlídek, na různých stupních profesionality.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis Fashion Show as Performance Art deals with examining, comparing and explaining relationship or similarity of fashion shows and live art; the so-called performance art. This study further attempts to describe specific fashion shows which are most linked to performance art and to describe individual theatrical or performing elements that make fashion show interesting from the theatrical point of view. The thesis is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter entitled The Theoretical Part focuses on explaining the three main terms that are related to the work: the concept of theatre, performance art and fashion show. The second part of the work called The Historical Part deals with the development of both forms, with both performance and fashion show. The theme of the other chapter is already concerned with particular signs that divides or connects fashions shows with performance art. The last section called The Practical Part which is divided into many sub-chapters, according to certain defined types of fashion shows, defines particular fashion shows and their possible theatrical signs. The aim of this work is to highlight innovative or classical approaches with regards to performance of the fashion shows at various levels of professionalism.
