Risks arising from the incorrect placement of a child in a facility for institutional and protective education

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se v první kapitole zaměřuje na problematiku delikvence mládeže, na rizikové faktory spojené s tímto jevem a analyzuje strukturu kriminality mezi mladistvými. Další kapitola se věnuje systému trestání a péče o delikventní mládež, taktéž i systému včasné intervence. Ve třetí kapitole práce pojednává o ústavní výchově, charakterizuje zařízení ústavní a ochranné výchovy a popisuje proces umísťování dětí a mládeže do zařízení ústavní a ochranné výchovy. V závěru teoretické části práce pojednává o rizicích plynoucích z nesprávného umístění dítěte do zařízení ústavní a ochranné výchovy. Výzkumná část práce na základě rozhovorů se sociálními pracovnicemi v zařízení ústavní a ochranné výchovy popisuje strukturální problematiku nesprávného umísťování dětí a mládeže do zařízení ústavní a ochranné výchovy. Ve výzkumné části byl použit kvalitativní přístup. S využitím metody vyložení karet je práce rozčleněna do 6 kategorií, které odhalují rizika, která způsobují a plynou z nesprávného umístění dětí a mládeže do zařízení ústavní a ochranné výchovy. V závěru této části sociální pracovnice navrhují způsoby minimalizace rizik a navrhují strategie, jak tuto problematiku efektivně řešit.

Abstract:

The first chapter of the thesis focuses on the issue of juvenile delinquency, the risk factors associated with this phenomenon and analyses the structure of juvenile delinquency. The next chapter deals with the system of punishment and care for delinquent youth, as well as the system of early intervention. In the third chapter, the thesis discusses institutional education, characterises institutions of institutional and protective education and describes the process of placing children and youth in institutions of institutional and protective education. The theoretical part of the thesis concludes with a discussion of the risks arising from the incorrect placement of a child in a facility for institutional and protective education. Based on interviews with social workers in residential and protective education facilities, the research part of the thesis describes the structural problem of improper placement of children and youth in residential and protective education facilities. A qualitative approach was used in the research part. Using the method of laying out the cards, the thesis is divided into 6 categories that reveal the risks that cause and result from the improper placement of children and youths in institutions of institutional and protective education. At the end of this section, the social workers suggest ways to minimize the risks and propose strategies to effectively address the issue.
