The experience of a "non-initiator" in the beginning phase of psychotherapy in the course of a marital crisis

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na zkušenost neiniciátorů manželské terapie v její počáteční fázi. Cílem je přispět k dosavadním poznatkům v oblasti prožitku v rámci manželské terapie. Teoretická část přináší pohled na specifika manželských konfliktů a manželské krize, dále na specifika počáteční fáze terapie a na rozdílnou pozici manželů v terapii. V neposlední řadě se práce zabývá prožitkem klientů v terapii. Výzkum je explorativního charakteru a využívá interpretativní fenomenologické analýzy. Prostřednictvím čtyř polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se snaží najít odpovědi na hlavní výzkumnou otázku „ Jak neiniciátor prožívá počáteční fázi terapie? “, která byla rozdělena na tři podotázky: „ 1. Jak neiniciátor prožívá období mezi objednáním a prvním sezením? 2. Jakou zkušenost má neiniciátor na počátečním sezení? 3. Co neiniciátor prožívá po prvním sezení (v období mezi prvním a druhým sezením)?“. Za pomoci analýzy vzešlo celkem 18 témat. V období mezi objednáním a prvním sezením se jednalo o témata: Já nad propastí, Vidím pomoc, Střídání naděje a zoufalství, Rodina v ohrožení, Ten cizí třetí. Během prvního sezení vznikla témata: Dostávám záchranné lano, Padám, Rodina v ohrožení, Manželství před koncem, Já, Ty a Ten třetí a K sobě blíž. V období mezi prvním a druhým sezením vznikla témata: Chytám se, Rodina v ohrožení, Konec jedné etapy, Ten třetí s námi, A přece se bojím, Vztek, Zase spolu. Jednotlivá témata se navzájem doplňovala a ovlivňovala. Výsledky se snažili zachytit prožitek, který byl dán do souvislostí s dosavadními výzkumnými zjištěními ohledně manželské terapie.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the experience of the non-initiators in marital therapy during the initial phase of therapy. The aim is to contribute to the existing knowledge in the field of experience within the marital therapy. The theoretical part gives an insight into the specifics of marital conflicts and marital crisis, as well as the specifics of the initial phase of therapy and at different positions in the therapy and last but not least, the experience in therapy. The research is qualitative in nature and uses an interpretative phenomenological analysis. Through four interviews with trying to find answers to the main research question '' How non-initiator experience the initial phase of therapy? ". This question was divided into three sub-questions:" 1. How does non-initiator experience a period between ordering and the first therapy session? 2. What experience has non-initiator during the initial session? 3. What does non-initiator experience after the first session (between the first and second session?) ". The analysis yielded 18 themes. In the period between ordering and the first session there were themes: I am over the abyss, I see the help, Alternating hope and despair, Family in danger, The third as a foreigner. During the first session there were themes: I get a lifeline, I am falling, Family in danger, Marriage before the end, Me, you and the third, Closer. In the period between the first and the second session were created topics: I am catching, Family in danger, The end of one phase, The third one with us, I am still afraid, Anger, Together again. Individual topics affected and influenced each other. The results were trying to capture an experience that was put into context with existing research findings regarding marital therapy.
