Enhancing the effectiveness of the CSR activities in Lovochemie, a.s.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce je přispět ke zefektivnění CSR aktivit firmy Lovochemie, a.s. návrhem opatření vycházejícího z konceptu sdílené hodnoty (Creating Shared Value), resp. návrhem opatření pro tvorbu sdílené hodnoty. Dílčím cílem práce je vytvořit stručné pojednání o CSV, CSR a souvisejících konceptech, které má posloužit jako ucelené východisko pro dané konkrétní opatření. Autor je toho názoru, že myšlenka (strategické) CSR a CSV je totožná, přičemž ji lépe vystihuje právě pojem "tvorba sdílené hodnoty". Jádrem myšlenky sdílené hodnoty je tvorba prospěchu pro společnost, který zároveň posiluje konkurenceschopnost podniku. Návrh opatření má podobu programu pro pomoc zaměstnancům-kuřákům v odvykání kouření. Autor navrhuje postup pro organizaci programu, jeho financování a měření výstupů z něj. Cílem konkrétního Programu bude snížení absencí zaměstnanců, snížení vyplácených náhrad mezd, efektivnější využití pracovní doby a zvýšení prevence vzniku závažných onemocnění, které kouření způsobuje. Jinými slovy má program přispět k zajištění co nejvíce a nejdéle výkonné pracovní síly.

Abstract:

The main goal of the final thesis is to create a project for enhancing the effectiveness of the CSR activities of Lovochemie, a.s. according to the "Creating Shared Value" concept (CSV). In other words, the project is aimed at creating shared value. The secondary goal was to make a summary of CSV, CSR and related concepts. That summary serves as the underpinning for the suggested solution. The author thinks that (strategic) CSR and CSV are based on the same thought but "creating shared value" matches the thought better than "corporate social responsibility". The principle of creating shared value is to strengthen the competitiveness of a company by creating value for society (stakeholders). The solution for creating shared value has the form of a program that is focused on helping employees quit smoking and suggests ways how to organize and finance the Program and how to measure its outcomes. The goal of this health benefit is to reduce the employee absenteeism, reduce the amount paid to employees´ when they are temporarily absent from work, increase the efficiency of the working time and ensure higher prevention of smoking-related diseases. In short this benefit should contribute to achieving as high and sustained employees´ performance as possible.
