Financial and strategic analysis of EXCALIBUR ARMY LLC

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá finanční a strategickou analýzou výrobního podniku vojenské těžké techniky, která je součástí koncernu Czechoslovak Group. Cílem práce je zhodnocení výsledků dané společnosti v časovém horizontu pěti let (od roku 2017 do roku 2021), posouzení finančního zdraví společnosti a také poukázání na silné a slabé stránky společnosti s ohledem na aktuální dění ve světě. Cíle jsou naplňovány pomocí horizontální a vertikální analýzy výkazů, poměrové analýzy a strategické analýzy (analýza pomocí Porterova modelu 5 sil, PESTLE analýzy a SWOT analýzy). Největší přínosy práce spočívají ve zjištění, že společnost má přes 60 % pohledávek po splatnosti. Tím pádem má také velkou dobu obratu pohledávek, a problémem by to mohlo být v případě, kdy by společnost byla nesolventní a potřebovala by rychle peníze. Přínosem také bylo rozebrání příležitostí ve vztahu k celosvětovému dění.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the financial and strategic analysis of a production company of military heavy equipment, which is part of the Czechoslovak Group. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the results of the company in the time horizon of five years (from 2017 to 2021), to assess the financial health of the company and also to point out the strengths and weaknesses of the company with regard to current events in the world. The objectives are fulfilled through horizontal and vertical analysis of the statements, ratio analysis and strategic analysis (using Porter's 5 forces model, PESTLE analysis and SWOT analysis). The biggest contribution of the thesis comes from the finding that the company has over 60% of its claims past due. Because of this, it also has a high turnover time for claims, and this could be a problem if the company is insolvent and needs money quickly. It was also beneficial to analyse the opportunities in relation to global events.
