Reforms of International Monetary Fund in reaction to chosen financial crises

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá účastí Mezinárodního měnového fondu ve vybraných finančních krizích a jejich vlivem na Mezinárodní měnový fond a jeho chování na úrovni mezinárodních vztahů. V první části je popsána teorie této mezinárodní instituce, její cíle, struktura a finanční nástroje. Práce se následně věnuje příčinám a průběhu mexické krizi, asijské krizi a dluhové krizi eurozóny. Roli, kterou v nich Mezinárodní měnový fond sehrál a změny, které v rekci na ně přijal. V závěrečné čás-ti shrnu získaná zjištění a komparuji jednotlivé reformní kroky Meziná-rodního měnového fondu a jejich kauzální návaznosti na dané finanční krize.

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with selected financial crises and addresses the partic-ipation of the International Monetary Fund on these crises. Firstly, this thesis will describe the theory of International Monetary Fund, its goals, structure and financial instruments. Further in the thesis I will be looking into causes of Mexican and Asian crisis as well as the crisis in the Eurozone. Beside the role which International Monetary Fund played in them I will analyse the changes that happened in the International Monetary Fund during these crises. The last chapter examines and compares reforms of International Monetary Fund and their connection to financial crises.
