Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je problematika paliativní péče z pohledu nelékařského zdravotnického personálu. Paliativní péčí se rozumí zdravotnický přístup, jehož cílem je zlepšit kvalitu života pacientů a jejich rodin v momentě, kdy se potýkají s onemocněním ohrožující život. V teoretické části se tato práce zaměřuje na definici, historii a rozdělení paliativní péče. Shrnuje základní potřeby pacientů, fáze umírání, komunikaci s pacienty a roli zdravotnického personálu v paliativní péči. V praktické části jsou vyhodnocena data získaná z průzkumného šetření za využití dotazníku, který byl stěžením pro tuto práci. Sběr dat pro účely této práce probíhal na různých pracovištích v ČR, které poskytují paliativní péči. Výsledky této práce ukazují na to, že nelékařský personál poskytující paliativní péči shledává tuto profesi jako naplňující, odměňující, ale zároveň velmi fyzicky a psychicky náročnou. Hlavním problémem, kterému musí zdravotnický personál v paliativní péči čelit je postoj pacientů a společnosti ke smrti a nedostatek personálu. Důvodem pro výběr této profese u respondentů je potřeba pomáhat druhým.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with issues of palliative care from the point of view of non-medical healthcare staff. Palliative care is understood as a medical approach whose goal is to improve the health of patients and their families when they deal with a life-threatening illness. The theoretical part of this thesis describes the definition, history, and types of palliative care. It summarizes patients' basic needs, death phases, communication with patients, the roles of medical staff in palliative care. The practical part evaluates data acquired from a survey, which is crucial for this thesis. Surveys were executed at various workplaces in the Czech Republic that provide palliative care. The results of this thesis prove that non-medical healthcare staff providing palliative care consider this profession as fulfilling, rewarding, and very physically and mentally demanding. The main problems that non-medical palliative staff has to face are the attitudes of patients and society's stance towards death and the lack of staff. The main reason for choosing this profession is the need to help others.
