Financial analysis of Jihlava Brewing Company, Inc.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce s názvem "Finanční analýza společnosti Pivovar Jihlava, a.s." je zhodnotit finanční situaci této společnosti na základě provedené finanční analýzy za období 2008 -- 2013 a porovnat její situaci jak s odvětvím, tak s konkurenční firmou. Finanční analýza je zpracována pro účely vlastníků, tedy se zaměřením na dosahování zisku společnosti a hodnoty pro vlastníky. Zdrojem informací pro vypracování potřebných výpočtů jsou veřejně dostupné účetní výkazy a výroční zpráva dané společnosti a výkazy společností zahrnutých ve srovnání. Pro analýzu podniku byla použita horizontální a vertikální analýza rozvahy, bilanční pravidla, působení finanční páky, analýza poměrových ukazatelů, ekonomické přidané hodnoty, srovnání podniku s odvětvím, mezipodnikové srovnání a užití bankrotních a bonitních modelů. V závěru práce je shrnutí nejdůležitějších výsledků a případná doporučení ke zlepšení finanční situace a celkového finančního zdraví společnosti Pivovar Jihlava, a.s. Celkový finanční stav Pivovaru Jihlava, a.s. hodnotím spíše pozitivně. Ačkoli jihlavský pivovar zatím nepřináší přidanou hodnotu svým vlastníkům, hodnoty poměrových ukazatelů jsou kladné a relativně stabilní. Akvizice s Pivovary Lobkowicz Group, a.s. byla úspěšná a jihlavský pivovar zachránila před likvidací. Největší slabou stránkou Pivovaru Jihlava, a.s. je vysoká doba inkasa pohledávek a nízká rentabilita vlastního kapitálu.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis titled "Financial analysis of Jihlava Brewing Company, Inc" is to assess the financial position of the company on the basis of a financial analysis for the period 2008 - 2012 and compare situation of Jihlava Brewing Company with both the industry and the competitive firm. The financial analysis is prepared for the purposes of the owners, thus focusing on profit of the company. The source of information for the development of the necessary calculations are publicly available financial statements of the company and the statements of the companies included in the comparison. For analysis of the company were used horizontal and vertical analysis of the balance sheet, balance sheet rules, the effect of financial leverage, analysis of financial ratios, economic value added, comparison with the business sector, inter-company comparisons and the use of bankruptcy and credibility models. In the conclusion of this work is a summary of the most important results and recommendations to improve the financial situation and the overall financial health of the company Jihlava Brewing Company, Inc. I assess The overall financial condition of the brewery Jihlava, Inc. rather positively. Although the Jihlava Brewery Company, Inc. has not yet provided added value to its owners, the value of ratios indexes are positive and relatively stable. Acquisition of Lobkowicz Brewing Company Group, Inc. was successful and the Jihlava rewery was saved from liquidation. The biggest weakness of Brewery Jihlava, is high time of receivables collection and low return of equity.
