The Syndrome Burnout in teaching

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá syndromem vyhoření v učitelství. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na syndrom vyhoření v učitelství, popisuje historii syndromu vyhoření, definice a společné znaky těchto definic. Dále pojednává o dalších charakteristikách syndromu vyhoření, příznacích, typech, fázích a příčinách syndromu vyhoření. Vymezuje pojem učitel a učitelka mateřské školy. Popisuje učitelství jako profesi, uvádí specifika profese učitelky mateřské školy a možné problémy učitelek mateřských škol v profesi. Dále se věnuje stresu jako možnému faktoru syndromu vyhoření a zdroji stresu u učitelky mateřské školy. V závěru se teoretická práce zabývá prevencí syndromu vyhoření, zmiňuje možnosti, externí a interní postupy prevence syndromu vyhoření. Cílem empirické části výzkumného šetření je zmapovat syndrom vyhoření ve zvolených ukazatelích u učitelek mateřských škol ve vztahu k délce jejich profesní praxe. K výzkumu byly použity výzkumné metody a techniky statistického vyhodnocování, kterými byly dotazníkové šetření, dotazník MBI-Maslach Burnout Inventory, chí-kvadrát test nezávislosti, Spearmanův korelační koeficient a jeho test statistické významnosti. Prokázalo se, že u učitelek mateřských škol s rostoucí délkou praxe roste i subjektivní pocit syndromu vyhoření a roste také účinnost některých preventivních opatření. Délkou praxe však není ovlivněna účinnost mnohých preventivních opatření. Rovněž projevy syndromu vyhoření jsou u učitelek mateřských škol s různou délkou praxe velmi podobné.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the burnout syndrome in teaching. The thesis is dividend in two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part deals with the burnout syndrome in teaching, it says informations about its history, definitions and characteristics of the burnout syndrome, symptoms, types, stages and causes of the burnout syndrome. It also defines a term pre-school teacher. It describes teaching as a profession. This part mentions specific aspects of pre-school teaching and possible problems in pre-school teaching practice. This part defines stress as a possible burnout syndrome factor and sources of stress in this profession. The end of this part deals with a burnout syndrome prevention. The aim of the empirical part is to determine a burnout syndrome in chosen aspects by pre-school teachers according to the length of their professional practice. The thesis uses research methods and statistical evaluation techniques, especially questionnaire survey, MBI - Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire, independence test, chi-square statistic, the Spearman's correlation coefficient and his test of statistic relevance. It established that the longer the professional practice of pre-school teachers, the higher a subjective burnout syndrome feeling is and the more effective some prevention methods are. The ways we can spot the burnout syndrome in teachers with different lengths of practice are very similiar.
