Therapeutic diary in addiction treatment: an instrumental multi-case study

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje využití terapeutickému deníku v léčbě závislosti na alkoholu. Cílem je popsat a analyzovat subjektivně vnímanou zkušenost klientů v rezidenční léčbě závislosti na alkoholu s terapeutickým (emočním) deníkem využívaným jako podpůrný terapeutický nástroj. Teoretická část mapuje současný vývoj na výzkumném poli a zasazuje výzkum do kontextu. Postupně jsou rozebrána témata závislosti na alkoholu, léčby závislosti na alkoholu v České republice, psaní jakožto cesta k úzdravě, až po terapeutický deník a jeho zakotvení v Psychiatrické nemocnici Brno. Součástí práce je zmapování dosavadních studií projektu DAQUAo, do jehož kontextu, jakožto i kontextu teoretických východisek, jsou výsledky analýzy zasazeny. Metodologická část se soustředí na interpretativní fenomenologickou analýzu šesti polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, pomocí nichž se autorka práce snaží porozumět zkušenosti pacientů s terapeutickým deníkem. Výsledkem je pět hlavních témat s podtématy, která vzešla z analýzy rozhovorů. Témata jsou popsána a doplněna přímými citacemi z rozhovorů a zasazena do kontextu. Výzkum uzavírá perspektiva do budoucna, kterou mohou navázat další práce.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on a therapeutic diary in the process of the treatment of alcohol addiction. The aim of this work is to describe and analyze the subjectively perceived experience of clients in the residential treatment of alcohol addiction with a therapeutic (emotional) diary used as a supportive therapeutic tool. The theoretical part maps current research and puts the thesis in context. Gradually, the topics of alcohol addiction, treatment of alcohol addiction in the Czech Republic, writing to recovery and the therapeutic diary and its anchoring in the Psychiatric Hospital in Brno are discussed. Part of the thesis is the summary of existing studies of the DAQUAo project, in its context, as well as the context of the theoretical basis, the results of the analysis are embedded in. The methodological part focuses on the interpretive phenomenological analysis of six semi-structured interviews, with it the author tries to understand the experience of patients with a therapeutic diary. The result are five main topics with subtopics that emerged from the analysis of the interviews. Topics are described and supplemented by direct quotes from the interviews and put into context. The research concludes with a perspective for the future, which can be followed by further research.
