Here I am at Home or The Autumn of Life in the Home for Senior Citizens

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Tady jsem doma“ aneb podzim života v domově pro seniory, pojednává o životě seniorů v institucionální péči. Především se zaobírá otázkami spokojenosti seniorů s žitím v domově pro seniory, pojednává o jejich ztrátách či nálezech, které způsobil příchod do domova pro seniory. Věnuje se názorům klientů, vypovídá o spokojenosti či nespokojenosti s životem v sociálních službách. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na aspekty stáří, jeho fyziologické změny, na reakce okolí na stáří, pojednává o předsudcích vedených vůči stáří a domovům pro seniory, také se věnuje nabídce sociálních služeb pro seniory. Empirická část je zpracována pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu, s respondenty je veden hloubkový polostrukturovaný rozhovor, pomocí něhož jsou získána potřebná data. Výzkum je dále zpracován pomocí zakotvené teorie a interpretace dat. Cílem mé diplomové práce bylo zjistit jak se žije klientům v domově pro seniory v Tovačově.

Abstract:

The thesis with the title „Here I Am at Home“ or „The Autumn of Life in the Home for Senior Citizens“ deals with the life of senior citizens in the institutional care. Primarily it discusses the questions of the satisfaction of the senior citizens with the life in the home for senior citizens, it deals with their losses and discoveries related to the arrival to the home for senior citizens. It pays attention to the opinions of the clients, it bears evidence about the satisfaction and dissatisfaction with the life in the social services. The theoretical part concentrates on the aspects of the old age, its physiological changes, the reactions of the surroundings to the old age, it deals with the prejudices against the old age and the homes for the senior citizens and with the offer of the social services for senior citizens as well. The empirical part is prepared by means of qualitative research, an in-depth semistructured dialogue is lead with the respondents by means of which the required data are obtained. The research is further processed by means of embedded theory and data interpretation. The goal of the empirical part was to find out about the satisfaction of the senior citizens with the life in the home.
