Teacher’s attitude towards eating disorders in the school context

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Postoj učitelů k poruchám příjmu potravy“ pojednává o vnímání poruch příjmu potravy na škole, kde učitel působí. Práce navazuje na výzkum, započatý v bakalářské práci a je založena na výsledcích jejího výzkumu. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část poskytuje kompletní ilustraci problematiky poruch příjmu potravy, psychologický portrét dívek trpících poruchou příjmu potravy a informace o zakotvení problematiky v osnovách českého školství. Praktická část obsahuje analýzu rozhovorů s učiteli a jejich postoje a názory na tematiku poruch a také popisuje jejich dosavadní znalosti ze zmíněného oboru. Jako metodu výzkumu práce používá kvalitativní analýzu a jako výzkumný nástroj kategorizaci. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty výsledky výzkumu, které jsou porovnány s výsledky výzkumu práce bakalářské.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis “Teacher’s attitude towards eating disorders in the school context” discusses the perception of teachers of eating disorder at the school they teach at. The thesis is a continuation of research started in the bachelor thesis and it is grounded on facts acquired from the research applied there. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part provides a complete illustration of eating disorder issues, psychological portrait of suffering people and how eating disorders are treated in the Czech school system. The practical part provides a complete analysis of teachers’ opinions, knowledge and attitude concerning eating disorders. The method chosen for research is qualitative analysis with its research tool being the categorization. In the conclusion, the diploma thesis provides survey findings and compares them to results from bachelor thesis research.
