Geoparks as a tool for sustainable tourism

Abstract:

Tato práce řeší problematiku udržitelnosti cestovního ruchu v poměrně nové formě poskytování turistických služeb, a to geoparcích. Hlavním cílem práce je navržení možných indikátorů, kterými lze tuto udržitelnost cestovního ruchu zvoleného regionu měřit. V tomto případě byl vybrán Geopark Český ráj. K řešení tohoto problému byl využit postup, který je obsažen v příručce UNWTO. V první části jsem shrnula teoretické poznatky týkající se udržitelnosti cestovního ruchu. V druhé části jsem navázala problematikou samotného geoturismu, jakožto nového fenoménu v rámci turistického ruchu. Ve třetí části jsou navrženy konkrétní indikátory, které lze použít pro měření udržitelnosti cestovního ruchu v Geoparku Český ráj. Ve shrnutí analýzy jsem došla k závěru, že indikátory se vyznačují rozvojem a pozvolným tempem růstu a geopark má potenciál přinést další rozvoj tradičně turistickému regionu.

Abstract:

This paper addresses the issue of a sustainable tourism in a relatively new form of providing services, the geoparks. The main goal is to propose the possible indicators which can be used for evaluating of the suistainability of tourism in the selected region. For this paper it was selected the Geopark Český ráj. To the solution of this topis was used the method which is included in the manual UNWTO. It the first part I summarized the therorecial knowledge concerning the suistainability of tourism. In the second part I continued with the geotourism itself as a new phenomenon within the topic of tourism. In the third part there were suggested the particular indicators which can be used for evaluating of suistainability of tourism in Geopark Český ráj. In the summarization of the analysis I concluded that the indicators evolve and grow slowly and the geopark has a potential to bring another development to the traditionally touristic area.
