Surface movement monitoring methods of slope deformations the Outer Western Carpathians

Abstract:

Tato práce řeší hlubokou svahovou deformaci na severní části hřebenu Ondřejníku. Cílem mé práce je vyhodnotit zda je monitorovaná oblast v pohybu a zda je používaná měřicí metoda vhodnou, případně navrhnout jiné postupy, které by mohly být efektivnější. Zaměřila jsem se tedy na měření odlučné hrany protínající cestu. Předešlý monitoring této deformace ukázal, že je zde odlučná část masivu v pohybu a že výrazně dominuje pohyb, při výskytu vytrvalejších srážek. Monitoring této partie probíhá již od roku 2007, kdy měření probíhalo několikrát do roka. Použitý postup se nazývá geometrická nivelace ze středu. Za využití nivelačního přístroje GeoFennel, typ NG24, jsem téměř každý měsíc od května 2016 do dubna 2017, měřila výškový rozdíl mezi protilehlými hřeby. Ze začátku jsem využívala původní dva hřeby. V září 2016 jsem na cestu přidala další 4 hřeby, abych mohla lépe určit, jak je metoda přesná. Vznikly mi tedy 3 měřící úseky. Výsledky prokazují, že daná svahová deformace je v pohybu. Nivelační metoda se zdá být vhodnou, avšak při výzkumu jsem narazila na problémy jako je měření na sněhové pokrývce, či rozježděné hřeby v důsledku projíždějících nákladních aut. O jeden hřeb jsem přišla a tak musel být nahrazen. Tímto mohou být data ovlivněna. Výsledky umožňují získat přehled o současném vývoji této hluboké svahové deformace a o problémech spojené s užitými metodami.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis deals with deep slope deformations on the north side of Ondřejník ridge. The objective of this thesis is to determine if the monitored area is in motion, if the method that was used is appropriate, and if it is not, to find and propose other methods that could be more suitable or effective. I have focused on measuring the jointed edge intersecting a road. Previous measurements of this deformation has shown that the jointed part of the Ondřejník massif is indeed in motion supported by periods of heavy precipitation. The monitoring of this region is under way since 2007 and it is being done several times per year. The used method is called geometric levelling out of centre. With the use of a levelling instrument GeoFennel NG 24 a difference in height between two opposite spikes was measured every month from May 2016 to April 2017. Two spikes were used at the beginning of the measurement, with four more spikes being added in September 2016 in order to properly assess the accuracy of the measurement. Therefore three measuring sections were created. The results of the measurement show that the measured slope deformation is in motion. Levelling method does appear to be suitable, I have however come across some problems, especially while measuring on snowy surface, or with the spikes alone being damaged by passing cars. One spike was lost and therefore must have been replaced, which in turn could impact the results. The results allow for obtaining a general knowledge about current development of the deep slope deformation and about problems related to the used methods.
