Risk management of small and medium-sized companies dealing with manufacturing, trade and export of consumer goods

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této diplomové práce je řízení rizik v bižuterních firmách. Cílem je vytvoření teoretického přehledu rizik spolu s nástroji k jejich zajištění, analýza řízení rizik ve firmách podnikajících v bižuterním odvětví a následné porovnání získaných informací s teoretickými poznatky. Bude tak vytvořena určitá příručka pro bižuterní firmu v oblasti risk managementu. Teoretická část práce definuje základní pojmy v oblasti risk managementu a klasifikuje rizika v tuzemském a mezinárodním obchodě. Zároveň specifikuje jednotlivé metody a nástroje k zajištění těchto rizik. Praktická část mapuje historický vývoj na trhu s bižuterií a navazuje vlastní analýzou risk managementu na bižuterním trhu prostřednictvím SWOT analýzy a především empirického výzkumu ve formě dotazníkového šetření. Závěrem detailněji zkoumá risk management v konkrétním podniku a na základě teoretických informací spojených s výsledky vlastní analýzy stanovuje doporučení pro firmu v oblasti řízení rizik.

Abstract:

The main topic of this diploma thesis is the risk management in jewellery companies. The aim is to create the theoretical overview of all risks and special tools appropriate to ensure them as well as the analysis of the risk management among jewellery companies and the comparison of the information gained and the theoretical framework. This way, a specific handbook on the risk management for jewellery companies will be created. The theoretical part defines the concepts in the risk management and classifies the risks in a domestic and in a foreign trade. It specifies the methods and tools necessary to secure and minimize the risks. The practical part analyses the jewellery market development and continues with the analysis of the risk management in jewellery market itself. It is performed by means of the SWOT analysis and especially the empirical research in the form of the questionnaires. Finally, it deeply explores the risk management in a specific company. In addition to this, it compares the theoretical knowledge with the results of the analysis and it provides the firm with the recommendations for the risk management.
