Refugees and Migration in the Communication of Parliamentary Parties in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato práce analyzuje programy vybraných politických subjektů v České republice pro parlamentní volby v letech 2017 a 2021 a projevy poslanců v Poslanecké sněmovně Parlamentu České republiky v letech 2017-2023 na téma uprchlictví a migrace. Používá kombinaci kvantitativní a kvalitativní analýzy. Analýza předpokládala, že většina politických stran v České republice bude v této otázce tzv. prodejně orientovaná a téma uprchlictví a migrace bude diskutovat zejména na základě postojů voličů, kteří tvoří jejich elektorát. Analýza také popisuje, jak jsou uprchlíci vnímáni poslanci Poslanecké sněmovny České republiky.

Abstract:

This work analyzes the programs of political parties in the Czech Republic for the parliamentary elections in 2017 and 2021, as well as the speeches of Members of Parliament in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic from 2017 to 2023 on the topic of refugees and migration. It uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis. The analysis assumed that the majority of political parties in the Czech Republic would be so-called sales-oriented on this issue, and the topic of refugees and migration would be discussed primarily based on the attitudes of voters who constitute their electorate. The analysis also describes how refugees are perceived by members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
