History of Social Work in Europe in the Period of Industrialization

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje historii sociální práce v období industrializace v Evropě. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak je pro sociální pracovníky důležitá znalost historie sociální práce a její využití v praxi. Byla použita metoda kvalitativního výzkumu. Sběr dat byl proveden pomocí dotazníku, který obsahoval otevřené i uzavřené otázky. Metodou analýzy získaných dat bylo zjištěno, že znalost historie je pro sociální pracovníky důležitá, avšak při výkonu svého zaměstnání se s využitím těchto znalostí setkali jen minimálně.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the history of social work in the period of industrialization in Europe. The objective of the work was to find out how important it is for social workers to be acquainted with the history of social work and its use in practice. The paper uses the method of qualitative research. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire that contained both open and closed questions. The method of analysis of the obtained data revealed that it is indeed important for social workers to maintain historical awareness; however, in the performance of their employment, they encountered the use of this knowledge only to a minimal extent.
