Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá strategie učení cizímu jazyku a jejich využívání žáky na nižším stupni gymnázia. Hlavním cílem je odhalit, do jaké míry žáci strategie využívají a jestli jsou si toho vědomi. Teoretická část práce objasňuje účel strategií učení cizímu jazyku a jejich přínos k procesu učení. Uvedené dělení strategií učení cizímu jazyku vychází z klasifikace Rebeccy L. Oxford. Dále jsou zmíněny různé typy studentů a učebních stylů, které souvisí s těmito strategiemi. Praktická část práce je založena na výzkumu, který je realizován prostřednictvím případové studie. Výzkum vycházel z dotazníku Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) od Rebeccy L. Oxford, rozhovorů s učitelem a se studenty. Praktická část práce přináší odpovědi na výzkumné otázky. Práce by měla zejména odhalit, které strategie studenti používají, dále objasnit, jestli jsou strategie užívány vědomě či nevědomě, a navíc by měla říci, zda se žáci učí používat tyto strategie ve škole nebo si je vytváří samostatně.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis investigates language learning strategies; and the use of such strategies by learners in the lower grade of grammar school. The main aim is to reveal to what extent do learners use the strategies and if they are aware of the fact that they are using them. The Theoretical Part of the thesis clarifies the purpose of the language learning strategies and the contribution to the learning process. Presented divison of language learning strategies is based on classification invented by Rebecca L. Oxford. Furthermore, different types of learners and learning styles are mentioned as they are connected with the strategies invented. The research in the Practical Part of the thesis is based on a case study. The research was based on the questionnaire Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) by Rebecca L. Oxford and the interviews with the teacher and students follow. The Practical Part will bring the answers to the research questions. It should mainly expose the strategies that are used by learners, then secondly, to reveal whether they are used consciously or not, and subsequently to uncover whether the learners learned them at school or developed them independently.
