Educational strategies of primary teachers to pupils with autism spectrum disorders

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with educational strategies of teachers at the primary level for students with autism spectrum disorder. The aim of the diploma thesis is to explore the relationships between the type of organizational arrangement of schools and the chosen educational strategies. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes pervasive developmental disorders, defines types of organizational arrangements in primary schools from the perspective of both the law and experts, and provides a brief overview of support directed towards students with special educational needs. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to the issue of educating individuals with autism spectrum disorders in mainstream school environments. The practical part of the diploma thesis presents the results of a qualitative survey conducted among teachers in small-scale and mainstream schools. Based on the results, conclusions and recommendations are formulated for qualitative changes in teachers' work with students with autism spectrum disorders.
