The use of methods of drama education in teaching History at primary school: education program Youth of the Father of the Country

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je osvojit si didaktické zákonitosti výuky vlastivědy a s využitím metod dramatické výchovy je aplikovat v praxi. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část praktickou. Teoretická část je zaměřena na vlastivědu, její místo v RVP ZV, a na historické vědomí žáka. Dále se práce věnuje dramatické výchově, jejím principům a metodám, které jsou využity ve výukovém programu. Součástí teoretické části je také přínos a limity využití metod dramatické výchovy ve výuce vlastivědy. Další oblastí je problematika integrované tematické výuky, její vymezení a principy. Praktická část obsahuje scénář výukového programu Mládí Otce vlasti, který se zabývá osobností Karla IV., jeho životem v dětství a mládí. Podstatou programu je využití metod dramatické výchovy při výuce vlastivědy. Součástí praktické části je také popis realizace a následná evaluace realizované části programu.

Abstract:

The aim of the diploma thesis is to acquire the didactic principles of teaching History and apply them in practice with the utilization of the drama education methods. This paper is divided into theoretical and practical part. Theoretical section is focused on History and its place in Educational Framework for Elementary Schools and also on the historical knowledge of pupils. Furthermore, the paper deals with drama education, its methods and principles, which are used in the education program. And also part of the theoretical section discusses the benefits and limits of using drama education methods in teaching History. Another area presents the issue of integrated thematic teaching, its definition and principles. The practical section includes the scenario of the education program “Youth of Father of Homeland”, which revolves around the personality of Charles IV., his childhood and youth life. The essence of the program it the utilization of drama education methods in teaching History. And also part of the practical section contains description of the implementation of these methods and subsequent evaluation of the implemented part of the program.
