The attitudes of women of reproductive age towards hearing impairment and towards the possibilities of its diagnosis before the child birth

Anotace:

Tato práce se zabývá postoji žen v reprodukčním věku ke sluchovému postižení a k diagnostice sluchových vad před narozením dítěte. V první části práce je popsána problematika sluchového postižení a postavení osob se sluchovým postižením ve společnosti. Druhá kapitola popisuje genetiku sluchových vad, prenatální a preimplantační genetickou diagnostiku a možnosti jejího využití u lidí se sluchovým postižením. V třetí části práce je popsaný výzkum, jehož cílem bylo zjistit postoje žen v reprodukčním věku ke sluchovému postižení a k možnostem jeho diagnostiky před narozením dítěte a čím jsou tyto postoje ovlivňovány.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with attitudes of women of reproductive age towards hearing impairment and towards the possibilities of its diagnosis before the child birth. The first part of the thesis presents the problem of hearing impairment and the status of individuals with hearing impairments in the society. The second part discusses the genetics of hearing impairment, prenatal and preimplantation genetic diagnostics and possibilities of its use for people with hearing impairment. The third part contains the research which is aimed to determine attitudes of women of reproductive age towards hearing impairment and towards the possibilities of its diagnosis before birth and what these attitudes are influenced by.
