Healthy Life Style in Textbooks of English for Lower Secondary Schools

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zobrazením zdravého životního stylu v učebnicích anglického jazyka pro druhý stupeň základních škol. Teoretická část práce obsahuje čtyři kapitoly. První kapitola se zaměřuje na zpracování tématu zdraví v Rámcovém vzdělávacím programu pro základní vzdělávání, se kterým je dále pracováno v praktické části. Druhá kapitola seznamuje čtenáře s tím, jak by měl vypadat zdravý životní styl žáka staršího školního věku. Třetí kapitola prezentuje učebnice z hlediska teorie, abychom byli schopni pochopit jejich význam pro vzdělávání. Čtvrtá kapitola zmiňuje výukovou metodu CLIL, která je jinou možností, jak propojit výuku cizího jazyka a odborného předmětu. V rámci praktické části jsou studovány vybrané učebnice, výsledky tohoto studia jsou poté použity k zodpovězení tří výzkumných otázek týkajících se tématu této diplomové práce.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the depiction of healthy lifestyle in textbooks of English for lower secondary schools. The theoretical part of the thesis contains four chapters. The first chapter focuses on the topic of health in the Framework educational programme for primary education, which is further worked with in the practical part. The second chapter introduces what a healthy lifestyle of a pupil of older school age should look like. The third chapter presents the textbooks in terms of theory so that we can understand their relevance to education. The fourth chapter mentions CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), which is another way of combining foreign language and vocational subject. In the practical part, selected textbooks are studied, and the results of this study are then used to answer three research questions related to the topic of this thesis.
