The influence of stuttering on assertion on the labor market

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývala koktavostí jako faktorem ovlivňující uplatnění osob s balbuties na trhu práce. Byla členěna na čtyři kapitoly – tři prostřednictvím monografické procedury shrnovaly teoretická východiska odborníků z oblasti balbutologie a ekonomie a čtvrtá kapitola tvořila část empirickou. První kapitola definovala pojmy komunikace a komunikační kompetence, narušená komunikační schopnost a specifika narušené komunikační schopnosti u dospělých osob. Druhá kapitola se věnovala definici koktavosti, jejímu výskytu, etiologii a symptomatologii, dále potom diagnostice koktavosti a hlavním terapeutickým metodám. Třetí kapitola zachycovala participaci osob na trhu práce, definovala trh práce a psychologické aspekty. Čtvrtá kapitola analyzovala vliv koktavosti na uplatnění na trhu práce v praxi, stanovovala cíle výzkumného šetření, výzkumné hypotézy, metodologii, charakterizovala výzkumný vzorek a popsala pracovní postup výzkumného šetření. Následně byly analyzovány jednotlivé položky dotazníkového šetření, které doplnil rozbor případové studie s komentáři a vlastními zkušenostmi vybrané osoby s balbuties a byly verifikovány/falzifikovány stanovené výzkumné hypotézy. V závěru práce byly shrnuty výsledky výzkumného šetření.

Abstract:

The present thesis research dealt with stammering as a factor influencing the process of finding a job. It was divided into four chapters - the three introduced a theoretical background and knowledge of professionals dedicated to the stammering and economics by monographic procedure and the fourth chapter presented empirical part. The first chapter approached the issue of communication and communication skills, communication disorder and its specifics in adulthood. The second chapter approached the definition of stammering, its occurrence, symptoms, diagnosis and support the development of communication skills of people who stammer. The third chapter approached the participation of person who stammers in the labor market, it defined the labor market and psychological aspects. The fourth chapter then analyzed stammering as a factor influencing the process of finding a job in practice. Objectives of the research were defined as well as research hypotheses and methodology. The research sample was characterized and the workflow was described. Then the individual items of the questionnaire were analyzed. The research was supplemented by case study of a person who stutters and comments about her own experiences. Established hypothesis were verified or falsified. At the conclusion the thesis summarizes the results of the research.
