Eating disorders in primary and secondary school pupils from the perspective of teachers

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zmapovat zkušenosti vybraných pedagogů s poruchami příjmu potravy (PPP) u žáků základních a středních škol. Nedílnou součástí práce je ucelený text o samotných poruchách příjmu potravy, a to i v kontextu školního prostředí. Práce popisuje zkušenosti pedagogů a pedagožek s žáky trpící PPP, jejich schopnost si problémů všimnout, diskutovat o něm a řešit jej. Dotýká se taktéž role školy a učitelů v otázkách prevence a v neposlední řadě osobní zainteresovanosti do problematiky PPP.

Abstract:

The aim of the work is to map the experiences of selected primary and secondary school teachers with eating disorders (ED) of their pupils. An integral part of the work is a comprehensive text about eating disorders, also in the context of the school environment. The thesis describes the experiences of pedagogues with pupils suffering from ED, their ability to notice problems, discuss them and solve them. It also touches on the topic of the school and teachers in matters of prevention and, last but not least, the personal interest of teachers in the issue of ED.
