Autobiographical Elements in Selected Novels of George Orwell
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis analyses autobiographical elements in the novels Keep the Aspidistra Flying (1936) and Coming Up for Air (1939) written by George Orwell. Therefore, the aim of the thesis is to determine to what extent and in what way the selected elements correspond with Orwell's life. The results show that Coming Up for Air reflects more Orwell's fear of the war and critical opinions on modern …more

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou autobiografických prvků v románech Bože, chraň aspidistru (1936) a Nadechnout se (1939) od spisovatele George Orwella. Cílem práce je určit do jaké míry a jakým způsobem vybrané prvky odpovídají životu George Orwella. Závěrem práce je, že v románu Nadechnout se se více odráží autorův strach z války a kritické názory na moderní společnost a politiku. Nicméně …more
