V naší diplomové práci zkoumáme sémantickou roli francouzského přechodníku (le gérondif) v uvozovacích větách přímé řeči v románech. Naším cílem je zjistit, zda a do jaké míry se přechodník v sémantické rovině podílí na výstavbě románové komunikační situace.
