Reading in Children with Different Mother Tongues

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na porozumění vietnamskému psanému textu v porovnání s porozuměním českému psanému text u dětí s odlišným mateřským jazykem - vietnamštinou ve věku kolem 10 let. Hlavním cílem práce bylo srovnání kompetencí čtení v češtině jako druhém jazyce (L2) a v mateřštině dětí s odlišným mateřským jazykem a hlubší poznání vícejazyčných mluvčích a zejména pak fungování češtiny ve vícejazyčné mysli dětí s odlišným mateřským jazykem a porozumění faktorům, které ovlivňují čtenářské kompetence právě u vícejazyčných dětí. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou.Teoretická část obsahuje shrnutí výsledků výzkumu bakalářské práce, uvádí do problematiky současné vietnamštiny a problematiky osvojování jazyka u dětí s OMJ. Empirická část vychází z výsledků výzkumného šetření, které bylo provedeno formou testu u dětí s OMJ - vietnamštinou a druhým jazykem - češtinou.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on understanding Vietnamese written text compared to understanding Czech written text in children at the age of about 10 years with a different mother tongue - in this case Vietnamese. The aim of this work was to compare the competences of reading in Czech as a second language (L2) and in the mother tongue of a children with different mother tongue and deeper knowledge of multilingual speakers and also the functioning of Czech in the multilingual mind of children with different mother tongue. The aim of this work was also understanding the factors that influence reading competences in multilingual children. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part contains a summary of the results of the bachelor thesis research, introduces into the issues of contemporary Vietnamese and the issue of language acquisition in children with different mother tongue. The empirical part is based on the results of the research survey, which was carried out in the form of a test in children with different mother tongue - Vietnamese and second language - Czech.
