Anotácia:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá filmovou praxí Kennetha Angera, konkrétně jeho dvěma filmy Invocation of My Demon Brother a Lucifer Rising, v souvislosti s magickým učením Aleistera Crowleyho. Jak tato práce dokazuje, Anger do velké míry z Crowleyho magie vycházel. Tato práce si klade za cíl popsat symboliku filmů, dále se zaměřuje na motivy magika a magického obřadu. Blíže se pak zabývá postavou Lucifera, jenž je hlavním středobodem nejen těchto dvou filmových děl, ale Angerovy filmové tvorby obecně. Interpretací Angerovy tvorby skrze magické učení se nám dostává hlubšího porozumění nejen obsahu těchto dvou filmových děl, ale i možnostem vizualizace magické zkušenosti filmovými prostředky.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the film practice of Kenneth Anger, specifically his two films Invocation of My Demon Brother and Lucifer Rising, in relation to the magic of Aleister Crowley. As this thesis proves, Kenneth Anger was highly influenced by Aleister Crowley. The aim of this thesis is to describe symbolism in the films. Greater focus is aimed at the features of magus and magical ceremony. The thesis takes a closer look at the figure of Lucifer, who is the central figure not only of these two films, but of Kenneth Anger’s film practice as a whole. Through interpretation of Anger’s films through magic teachings we can not only understand their meaning in a deeper way, but also we can understand the possibilities of visualization of magical experience through the film medium.
