Possibilities and limits of social care for battered and abused children

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá možnostmi a mezemi systému sociální práce o týrané a zneužívané děti. Práce je rozdělená na dvě části - část teoretickou a část praktickou. Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je popsat možnosti sociální práce o týrané a zneužívané děti a vystihnout také jejich meze. V rámci praktické části práce je pozornost zaměřena na kvalitativní výzkum, kde jsou informace získávány u orgánu sociálně právní ochrany dětí. V této práci se pozornost zaměřuje na vyhodnocení získaných poznatků zaměřených právě na zjištění možností a mezí této oblasti, ale také samotné práce sociálního pracovníka a její náročnosti. V praktické části jsou realizovány rozhovory s pracovníky orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí. Ze zjištěných údajů vyplývá, že sociálně-právní ochrana dětí je v České republice nastavena správně, zejména zákony a další postupy. Přesto má tato práce své meze spočívající v pomalém jednání soudů, dlouhých lhůtách u rozsudků, omezenosti kapacit lůžek v azylových domech a dalších zařízeních a některé další problémové oblasti, které je nutné řešit.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the possibilities and the limits of social work for abused and neglected children. The thesis is divided into two parts theoretical and practical part. The main objective of the thesis is to describe the possibilities of social work for abused and neglected children and capture their limits. In the framework of the practical part of the thesis an attention is focused on qualitative research, where is the information obtained with the authority of the socio-legal protection of children. In the thesis there is attention focuses on the assessment of lessons learned focused on finding possibilities and the limits of this area, but also the work of a social workers and his or her performance. In the practical part there are carried out interviews with the staff of the authority for social and legal protection of children. From the recorded data indicate that the socio-legal protection of children in the Czech Republic what is set correctly, in particular, laws and other practices. However, this thesis has its limits inherent in the slow courts, long time negotiations for the judgments, the narrowness of the capacity of beds in shelters and other facilities and some other problem areas that need to be improved.
