Analysis of tourism in a selected town (Pilsen)

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je analýza a zhodnocení současného stavu cestovního ruchu v Plzni. Práce obsahuje 5 kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá vymezením základních teoretických pojmů z oblasti cestovního ruchu, které jsou dále uvedeny v praktické části. Druhá kapitola pojednává o charakteristice Plzně a o jeho předpokladech pro rozvoj cestovního ruchu. Jsou zde uvedeny základní údaje o Plzni, její historie, infrastruktura cestovního ruchu, instituce zabývající se cestovním ruchem v Plzni a nabídka cestovního ruchu. V třetí kapitole je analyzována návštěvnost Plzně na základě statistik, dále je sestaven profil návštěvníka a jsou uvedeny typy cestovního ruchu, vyskytující se v Plzni. Čtvrtá kapitola podává ucelený přehled o propagaci města a jeho plánech do budoucnosti. V páté kapitole je na závěr vyhodnoceno postavení města v cestovním ruchu na základě SWOT analýzy a porovnání konkurenceschopnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and to evaluate the current state of tourism in Pilsen. The thesis contains 5 chapters. The first chapter deals with the characteristics of general terms of tourism, which are also stated in the practical part. The second chapter discusses the characteristics of Pilsen and its prerequisites for the development of tourism. The basic information about Pilsen, its history, tourism infrastructure, institutions dealing with tourism in Pilsen and tourism offers are stated here. In the third chapter the turnout of Pilsen is analyzed based on statistics, furthermore visitor profile and the types of tourism, occurring in Pilsen, are stated here. The fourth chapter gives a comprehensive overview of the town promotion and its plans for the future. In the fifth charter the status of tourism is evaluated based on SWOT analysis and comparison of competitiveness.
