The Role of a Social Worker with the Family of a Dying Patient

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá rolemi sociálního pracovníka s rodinou umírajícího pacienta. Cílem práce je popsat role sociálního pracovníka při práci s rodinou v kamenném hospici a v paliativním týmu v nemocnici. Práce obsahuje část teoretickou, na kterou pak navazuje část aplikační, ve které jsou ověřovány teoretické poznatky. První kapitola je věnována poslání sociálního pracovníka, jeho osobnostním předpokladům, rolím a činnostem při práci s umírajícími a jejich rodinami. Druhá kapitola je pak zaměřena na rodinu umírajícího. Poukazuje především na důležitost rodiny v procesu umírání a velkou potřebu věnovat se v sociální práci také jí. Aplikační část je zpracována formou komparace kazuistik ze dvou vybraných zařízení. Použitou technikou sběru dat je analýza spisové dokumentace a doplňkový expertní rozhovor. Výsledky jsou shrnuty v komparační tabulce a následné diskuzi.

Abstract:

The role of a social worker with a family of the dying person is the main topic of the bachelor thesis. The purpose of the thesis is to describe both aspects, the social worker who works with the family in a hospice and also his work in hospital with the palliative team. The thesis consists of a theoretical part which is followed by an application part, in which the theoretical knowledge is verified. The first chapter is devoted to the social worker's mission, its personality assumptions, roles and activities when working with the dying people and their families. The second chapther focuses on the family of a dying person. It highlights the importance of the family in the process of dying and the need to also focus on this aspect of social work. The application part compares casuistry from two different organizations. The technique of data collection is used analysis of the file documentation and an additional expert interview. The results are summarized in a comparison table and subsequent discussion.
