Alcoholism in family and the social worker intervention

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se soustředí na důsledky alkoholismu v rodinách a samotnou intervenci sociálního pracovníka, jak těmto rodinám může pomoci. V teoretické části se zabývám pojmem alkoholismus, stádii závislosti a metodami léčby či doléčovacími programy, jenž jsou lidem závislým na alkoholu nabízeny. Dále se věnuji popisů dopadů alkoholismu na rodinný systém, přičemž je kladen důraz na děti rodičů závislých na alkoholu. Popisuji, jakou roli zde zastává sociální práce a jaké nabízí možnosti pomoci. Výzkumná část je provedena pomocí kvalitativní výzkumné strategie, metodou případové studie, technikou sběru dat byly polostrukturované rozhovory. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jakým způsobem byl ovlivněn život členů rodiny, kteří vyrůstali ve společné domácnosti s člověkem závislým na alkoholu a jejich rodinné vztahy

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the consequences of alcoholism in families and the intervention of a social worker, how it can help these families. In the theoretical part I deal with the concept of alcoholism, the stage of addiction and methods of treatment or aftercare programs offered to people who are addicted to alcohol. Furthermore, I describe the impact of alcoholism on the family system, with emphasis on the children of parents dependent on alcohol. I describe the role of social work and the possibilities of help. The research part is carried out using a qualitative research strategy, a case study method, and the data collection technique were semi-structured interviews. The aim of the research was to find out how the lives of family members who grew up together with an alcohol addict and their family relationships were affected.
